ByteDance, the parent company, has released their popular video editing software, CapCut, as a plugin for ChatGPT users.
The new plugin uses generative AI to create everything you need to publish video content to TikTok and other social channels.

Only one sentence is required to describe the subject, topic, or purpose of the video. However, for higher quality results, the more specific and detailed your prompt is, the better.
CapCut, a tool with over 200 million users, offers the following advice on using its plugin with ChatGPT to get the video content you want.

An example of generating videos with AI using CapCut and ChatGPT
I used the following prompt to test the plugin: I need a video explaining SEO for beginners.
In its first reply, ChatGPT wanted to offer the script idea for the video and confirm the aspect ratio I wanted.

After I responded with the ratio for a TikTok video, CapCut generated a link to the results. There was also a link to an email address to provide feedback on the video the plugin and ChatGPT generated.

While the video was loading, CapCut provided a brief introduction to its features.

After logging in with my TikTok account, I was able to preview or edit the video content.

But first, CapCut sent a disclaimer about who is responsible for any problems caused by the AI output.

CapCut also asked permission to save inputs and outputs to improve training data/AI models.

With no other specifications beyond my simple idea and aspect ratio, a video was created complete with script, voiceover, soundtrack, subtitles and what appeared to be a mix of archive footage and memes.

If you’re curious how it turned out, here is the video output created by the CapCut ChatGPT plugin. While it’s a good starting point, there’s room for improvement.
Using AI to create video content
Showcasing a remarkable blend of AI capability and a user-friendly interface, the newly released CapCut plugin for ChatGPT users simplifies the video creation process for users of all experience levels.
With a simple one-sentence prompt, users can create complete videos with features such as voiceover, soundtrack, and a mix of visuals.
Whether you’re an experienced content creator looking to automate some aspects of your process or a newbie looking to break into the world of video content, the CapCut plugin is a tool worth trying out.
