EA Sports has released its first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 – the reincarnation of the popular NCAA football series – and I have to say, this is it wheel. The images and references to so many different universities and their traditions should delight just about any sports fan, regardless of school or affiliation.
Yes, there are the big ones like three-time national champion Clemson rubbing Howard's Rock at Clemson's Memorial Stadium and the famous Notre Dame players tapping the “Play Like a Champion Today” sign. But there's also Appalachian State, Wake Forest's Demon Deacon on his motorcycle, Wyoming taking the field in the cold Rocky Mountain snow, and even Army – yes, the hoodlums on the Hudson, at Michie Stadium.
It's all pure fan service. With all 134 major college football schools represented, EA Sports makes it clear that there will be something for everyone. Just this quick glimpse of the mezzanine at Kyle Field will have any Texas Aggie jumping out of their drill hat ready for battle.
What's included in EA Sports College Football 25?
A press release accompanying the trailer states that fans will see the home advantage in the game as a special challenge to exploit or overcome. ESPN's Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit provide commentary booth audio for four main game modes: Road to Glory (single-player career), College Football Ultimate Team, Road to the College Football Playoff (a leaderboard-style multiplayer mode), and of course Dynasty, the multi-season mode in which everyone builds a national champion with their beloved alma mater or a doghouse that appears out of nowhere.
College Football 25 will be released on July 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series
The new game will continue with their permission (and therefore compensation) under new rules adopted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association that allow players to profit from their name, image and likeness while enrolled and playing what is otherwise supposedly an amateur sport.
