How chat is changing GPT SEO

The launch of ChatGPT in November 2022 was a real game changer for digital marketers around the world. SEO professionals are still trying to harness the potential benefits and power of this technology.

The ability to enter search queries via live chat and receive perfectly and uniquely written content offers several advantages for those who want to create more content quickly and scale their online business. Webmasters can also create code faster than manually, supplementing or replacing developers.

However, this can also pose greater challenges as competition increases across the digital marketing landscape, raising questions about how Google’s search results will respond as marketing intelligence increases.

We speak to some industry experts and startup marketers to learn more about how ChatGPT is transforming SEO.

content creation

For consumers, the ability to create unique content and do it almost instantly is probably ChatGPT’s greatest benefit.

“Many SEO experts may have been skeptical at first,” explains Andrew Baker of financial startup Doddler.

“Writing unique content is something that’s drummed into you from day one, and anything that’s automated or too good to be true can only have a negative impact on search engine optimization.”

“But the early evidence shows that ChatGPT is consistent and the content it produces is unique and can rank well when done right,” says Richard Allan of Divorce Bob.

“While it would normally have taken us 6-8 weeks to create 50 pages of quality guides and blog posts, ChatGPT can do it in about 3 hours.”

“We were able to add pages for more than 1,600 area codes across the US using ChatGPT – and that would have been a mountain to climb without AI, or not, which we would have considered.”

“It still takes a proper SEO expert to interpret the right keyword count, content length and other SEO elements like internal links and headlines – but it certainly represents a very scalable way to distribute content.”

“It offers endless opportunities for targeting area codes, times, amounts and other long-tail keywords both domestically and when launching in other countries.”

Personnel recruitment and outsourcing

Outsourcing your content and code has been popular for many years. Startups and corporates are using companies like Fiverr and outsourcing their marketing teams to India and the Philippines.

“But with ChatGPT, the question is whether you need to hire content staff at all,” argues Matthew Sullivan of consumer finance site Harpsey.

“For years the question has been asked whether you need content authors or developers in-house at all and why pay local rates when it’s cheaper abroad?” But today the question arises as to whether you hire authors and developers at all must.”

“This could mean thousands of content writers could lose their jobs overnight. In practice, however, early signs show that while ChatGPT is used by millions, it is a small number that is causing an economic shock, and that traditional businesses still prefer the manual approach. But who knows if paid writers use ChatGPT for their work?”

Rapid prototyping and testing

“Being able to create content so quickly gives us an exciting opportunity to test and experiment,” said Gavin Cooper, Founder of Claims Bible. “And that’s what really makes up a big part of SEO.”

“We were able to quickly assemble content and test different page layouts and designs, or even compare platforms like Wix, Webflow or WordPress and see which performs best in the SERPs. From there we were able to grow and grow our business.”

“For us, we’ve been able to replicate hundreds of pages for different types of claims, be it injuries, banking, automakers and many more – and with consistent metadata and good backlinks, we’ve been able to secure positions on Google and generate quality leads.”

Changes in the Google SERPs

If we imagine millions of websites using ChatGPT to publish new content and develop new websites, will we see big swings in rankings across all industries?

However, this does not seem to be the case yet as ChatGPT has now been up and running for more than 6 months. But it certainly won’t come as a surprise if some industries that are very tech-savvy, such as B. consumer finance, casinos or crypto, are making great strides in this area.

Therefore, one could expect some new brands to appear almost out of nowhere on page 1 for some very competitive keywords, or for some sites to have early successes and even more serious crashes when penalized.

Still need experience and SEO knowledge

SEO is always changing and ChatGPT has undoubtedly created a paradigm shift and an exciting way to quickly publish content and replicate code, allowing new and established businesses to grow faster than ever.

While Google’s rule of thumb “content is king” still applies, there’s no denying it How SEO professionals use this content that really matters and will significantly change the SEO landscape.

While you can get content written quickly and with high quality, it’s not valuable if it doesn’t have intelligent and experienced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to back it up.

Understanding the right content, understanding the right keyword research, user intent, metadata and semantics is crucial – and if you can combine this with ChatGPT, it could be the recipe for real SEO success.
