THQ Nordic is postponing Alone in the Dark (again) to March 20th
THQ Nordic announced that it is delaying its new Alone in the Dark title again. Instead of launching next January, the game will now release on March 20, 2024. According to THQ Nordic, the game is being delayed to avoid the developers getting into trouble during the holiday season.
“The well-being of our teams is our top priority, and both companies want to avoid any potential crises over the holidays,” the publisher said in a statement, speaking for both itself and developer Pieces Interactive. “In addition, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive want to ensure that the game not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the community, especially through the outstanding performances of Hollywood stars David and Jodie as the main protagonists.”
Alone in the Dark was originally scheduled to release in October of this year, but the publisher postponed the game’s release until January. According to the company, this was done to avoid the very crowded October release window. The January 2024 and March 2024 release windows are much slimmer than the original month, but that doesn’t mean Alone in the Dark won’t have competition. Dragon’s Dogma 2, Princess Peach: Showtime! and Rise of the Ronin all release on March 22nd, two days after Alone in the Dark’s new release date.
