What about the new website?
You may have noticed this big, honking new LSGSEO logo in the middle of the homepage. I thought it was worth explaining.
A few years ago, some on the team felt strongly that calling it a “local” SEO guide gave the impression that we only did local SEO, which was confusing and put people off. The truth was that about 50% of our customers were always from non-“local” customers – e-commerce, media, B2B SaaS, etc. The team also hated the logo. They found it “old-fashioned” and “dumb.”
This made me smile because that was exactly the intention.
When we designed it 10 years ago, the idea was to signal that we were like your friendly, trustworthy neighborhood mechanic. I think it worked for our mostly Boomer customers, but that was back then and now we work with a lot of Millennial types and I think Uncle Joe’s SEO & Brew isn’t the right vibe.
In addition, almost every customer immediately forgets our name as soon as they sign the contract. To them we are “Local SEO” or simply “Local” or sometimes “LSG”.
That’s why we decided to give ourselves a fresh new look, make it easy for everyone and pseudo-rename ourselves to LSGSEO.
I say “pseudo” because as you can see, LocalSEOGuide.com is still going strong.
You will now notice that all links on this website related to our SEO services now lead to LSGSEO.com. The goal of this website is to truly make it a local SEO guide over time. I mean, we have the exact domain name and a whole lot of content, but we’ve definitely suffered from cobbler-shoe syndrome. I think we’ve been lucky over the last 18 years to be too busy to really make this website what it should have been.
We will get there.
In the meantime, if you need local or non-local SEO help, I’ve heard this company’s LSGSEO is pretty good…
