With this new offering, developers can now integrate Wix solutions such as eCommerce, Bookings, CMS and Events from any tech stack and manage them through Wix’s comprehensive management platform.

The APIs in this new solution are synchronized and ready to use with Wix’s additional solutions, such as: B. Contacts and Checkout.

Wix Headless paves the way for integrating Wix Business Solutions with leading web frameworks including React, Vue, Svelte, Qwik and more. This opens the door to further partnerships with leading full-stack solutions.

Netlify is the first platform to work with Wix, offering fast integration with Wix Bookings, Events, eCommerce, CMS and Pricing Plans APIs.

The launch of Wix Headless marks the first time the company has opened up its backend to work outside of the Wix platform. This evolution promises easier scalability, customization, and faster project delivery, providing a more robust suite of developer-centric solutions.

In web development and content management systems (CMS), “headless” refers to a decoupled architecture where the front-end and back-end of a website or application are separate.

Traditionally, the front end (the “head”) and back end of a website are closely related. The front end is what users see and interact with – the design, user interface, and content of the website.

All data is managed and stored in the backend – the database, the server and the applications take on all the functions behind the scenes.

With a headless CMS, the front end is “decapitated” by the back end. This separation allows developers to build and manage the frontend separately from the backend.

Content is delivered from the backend to the frontend via APIs. Using any programming language or framework, this content can be displayed across various frontends (websites, apps, IoT devices, etc.).
