Philippine senate passes invoice to permit international management of telcos, airways




MANILA (Reuters) – Philippine senators on Wednesday accepted a invoice that may enable full international possession of public companies like telecommunications, airways and home transport corporations.
The Southeast Asian nation, which has been hampered by restrictive possession limits and bureaucratic pink tape, is enjoying catch-up with lots of its neighbours in attracting international direct funding.
The invoice, which updates a 1935 legislation, will take away the 40% international possession cap on telecommunications, airways, transport, railways and irrigation.
